Well, a maximum size could be a feature used in parsing tshark output. But who
knows.

That is true.
On the other hand, when I got a chance to look at the matter more closely it
occurred to me that WKA's almost all have names longer than 8 characters, so it
would be possible today to have these longer names in the output.
So now we are left with the question what is a good size to set?
