A couple things:

1) I've changed the description of this bug to cover just OSX.  The issue here
is very simple AFAIK (just add one more standard directory to the MIB/PIB
search path), while the Windows error is different (and rarer, and harder to
fix, it looks).   Someone should open a separate bug for Windows if the MIBS
issue is valid there.

2) from comment #20:

I'm not sure we need to be bundling MIBS/PIBs in the wireshark distro.  The fix
here seems to be as simple as adding  "/usr/share/snmp/mibs/" to the "SMI (MIB
and PIB)" search path.   That's all I need to have the dialog go away on my
box, at least.
