I can't reproduce this on my MacBook Pro, with KisMAC downloaded from

    http://downloads.kismac-ng.org/KisMAC/trunk/KisMAC%20trunk%20r286.zip

and configured to use the AirPort Extreme interface, and with the Wireshark
1.0.2 binary package.

When you say "If you try to start Wireshark while running KisMAC, there are no
interfaces available," what happens if you try to start tcpdump while KisMAC is
running? What do "tcpdump -D" and "tcpdump -i en1 -L" print (you might have to
run them with sudo if your system isn't configured to give you read/write
access to the BPF devices)? What happens if there's a tcpdump running when you
start KisMAC?
