I had a very similar set of crashes about a week ago while working on another
problem.

When I eventually went back to pursue the crashes, I found I could no longer
get the crash to happen.

In my case, I was changing the TCP "validate checksum" preference.

I'll try again to see if I can get the crash to happen.
