Yes: I also just noticed this.

Some testing on Windows has pretty much convinced me that this is a problem
with the current version of the Gtk libraries. (I don't yet know if the same
problem is seen on *nix).

(Actually the problem seems to be specifically with the GDK library (part of
Gtk); If I fall back just the libgdk dll to the previous version the
GtkTreeView "typeahead search function" works properly).

Once I've verified the problem with a stand-alone test program, I'll file a bug
report with the Gtk folks.
