As already mentioned: The reason this is printed as MS... is, that this is the
most common usage and that's what we want to cover.
We are not going to change Wireshark because the only thing we can do is to
cover them most common case. There are still some options left to you:
- Change the manuf file after installation (this file is read every time
.+shark gets started and contains the assignment). This has the disadvantage
that you will have to apply this change after every update to Wireshark.
- Open a bug with MS to use properly assigned Ethernet addresses
- Use a different (locally assigned) MAC address for your machine that doesn't
overlap with one snarfed by some vendor that doesn't really care about
standards.
