I don't see the problem (on Windows XP using -pre2).

What I did:

Start Wireshark
Capture a few packets
File->Save, choose a file name, press Save.

Did I miss a step?

I'm using the default Wireshark UI (GTK2 or Wimp or whatever), though I don't
think GTK2 vs GTK1 should matter here.
