I doubt this is merge related, it's much more probably that this is a problem
saving the capture file format (as there are other open issues related to
Sniffer timestamps).

Could you check, if this happens on "simple" saving too? You may save the file
using the packet range "2-" (otherwise the file will be simply binary copied)
and look at the timestamps of the resulting packets if they show the same
problem.
